Sisters Sudha and Srividhya, Chennai-based Carnatic musicians, are daughters of the yester-year Vocalist Gita, of Uma-Gita Sisters. Srividhya and Sudha started their musical career as violinists. Later, their keen interest in the duo presentation, along with their mother’s yearning, resulted in the duo taking up vocal, to showcase the rich repertoire and patantara of their mother. They are giving Vocal Duo, Violin Duo and Violin accompaniment recitals in organisations Chennai and outside. They are presently working as a guest faculty in The Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai. Srividhya was also taking Vocal and Violin contact classes for the Distance Education wing of the University of Madras, and occasionally appearing as Examiner for the same.
