Ahom, which have long been known for its exquisite handloom and handicrafts has till now unexplored and uncovered pockets of which the SIPRD (state institute of panchayat and rural development) is taking up few projects under its handloom diversification program in its endeavor to protect the beautiful ethnic designs of various handloom products made through the process of indigenous methods, which no machines can replace. The state institute has come up with ethnic products catering to the needs of the much in demand at heritage market. Keeping in mind the aesthetics and ethnicity, it has to sponsor the rural poor weavers to weave sarees, galles, stole etc
